After
more than month of receiving a report
from the Defense Ministry, the Central
Bureau of Investigation has arrested 5
people including 3 former naval
personnel and 1 kin of Navy Chief. The
CBI raised 17 places simultaneously
across the country to arrest the
accused.
The
case has been exposed through the
much-discussed Scorpene submarine deal
where the Opposition
had accused the Government of
faltering in the procurement process.
Various politicians, their kin, and
naval officers have been implicated in
this scandal. However, sons of
Congressmen alleged by a magazine to
have had a hand in the deal were not
on the list of arrested. |
