   Tigers Threatened by Uranium Exploration

 

Uranium starved India will start exploring for that material near the Nagarujasagar reservoir ignoring fears that the material may pollute the dam that is also a major source of drinking water. Chitrial, which has intense radioactivity is spread over 50 kilometer, is at the heart of the Rajiv Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary, which is a major Tiger reserve. Improper management, inadequate administrative attention, and sheer greed have decimated tiger population in India. Most tigers are poached for body parts to be sold in China for use in its medicine.
