Nuclear Non-Proliferation Ayatollahs in the US are bemoaning
this decision saying that the US decision to go ahead
with the nuclear deal is spurring a number of
out-of-international-norms one-time deals. However,
NSG safeguards allow the export of nuclear fuel to
countries where not all reactors are under
international supervision, when exports are needed to
prevent “a radiological hazard to public health and
safety which reasonably cannot be met by other
means.”
Besides supply of nuclear fuel for Tharapur, Fradkov will also sign deals on nuclear, energy, and
space co-operation.
