INSCRIPTIONS COLLECTED DURING THE YEAR 1905-1906

North Arcot District, Walajapet Taluk, Tirumalpuram.
Manikanthesvara Temple – On The Same Wall.
Parthivendravarman “who took the head of Vira-pandya” –13th YEAR.

This record a gift of 25 kalanju of gold deposited with the Sabha of Pattalam alias Elunurruva-chaturvedimangalam, for burning two perpetual lamps in the temple of Tirumalperru-Mahadevar, one on behalf of (queen?) Vijjavai-Majadeviyar daughter of Vallamanar (pallava) Nandipanma-Kadupattigal, and the other on behalf of a retainer of the latter. The shepherds appointed to make the daily supply of ghee were to receive a portion of the sacred offered food from the temple.

Both the impression and the transcript of this inscription are wanting. It is stated against this number in the Annual Report for 1907, that it is engraved in Tamil and Grantha and is damaged and that it records the building of the temple and the enclosing verandah by the Virata king Anayaman alias Paramandaladitya.
