HULLUR, MUDDEBIHAL TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

NAGRAL, BILGI TALUK, BIJAPUR DISTRICT

On a broken stone lying in the house near the Hanuman temple

Ciraca 17th century

This is datd San. 1241.  The reference might be to the Sur-san, in which case it may be equated to 1841 A.D.

It seems to refer to the planting of trees.  The inscription is written in Nagari characters and Marathi language.

No. 733

(B.K. No. 247 of 1928-29)

TALI-MORAB, NAVALGUND TALUK, DHARWAR DISTRICT

On a slab built into the platform of the Panchamukhi Hanumantadeva temple

1841 A.D.

These seems to be pilgrims records.  One in Kannada characters mentions the name Dattatreya Avadhuta.  This is follwed by Nagari writing recording the date Saka 1763, Plava, Vaisakha va. 30.  This corresponds to 1841 A.D., May 20.

In the upper portion of the slab is engraved a short inscription in Arabic comprising religious text with an amulet of the figure 20 at the end (which is also incorrect), used for the supplication of the dead.  This leads one to infer that the record is probably an eptaph of religious interest only.
